2025.01.10 09:23 Trick-Total-2818 AIO about people not telling the full truth?
I (24F) asked my friends if any of them would like to go see a movie with me, after discussing it with another friend, let's call them K (23NB). K and another friend, H (23F) both said they'd be ok to go another day, after I pushed for a date I left it.
I was on a discord call with K today where they told me they had arranged the plans with the other friend and are going this weekend, a date I said in original plans I could not do. K said they "blanked on our plans" and did not apologise for the error.
I then asked in the group chat with these people if we were still on for the original date I put forward. H then stated she couldn't do that date and didn't even say her new plans with K
Am I overreacting for being upset about this?

2025.01.10 09:23 Xenonplus Government exams are shit.
Is it just me or Government exams/ exams for Govt institutions are shit and some private institutions do a better job. JEE is an example. Pretty shitty and unnecessarily hard exam to get into a bachelor's degree. On the other hand, BITSAT is comparatively better all around. Same goes with CAT and XAT. And I not even going to talk about UPSC and all, that shit it too much.
Like wtf are these people doing? Sure, the competition is growing, that doesn't mean you should make the exam hard? The total number of seats remain the same, right?
Am I missing something here or the people who set the papers wanna just be sadistic for funs' sake?

Hi,
I bought a dragonscale betta a few months ago. I am a first time betta owner (although not a first time fish tank owner) and I just didn't know about this colour to be prone to cancerous changes. And of course, poor Ted developed melanoma just a week into living here.
Now he has not only one but two tumors, and I'm starting to think about how I'm going to tell if it starts getting too much for this small creature and how to make his life as comfortable as possible while it lasts. Other fish I've owned were "thankfully" either healthy or pretty spontaneously dead, so I've never dealt with a potentially suffering fish.
How would you tell he wasn't fine anymore? Seen him lie down pretty frequently these days and he hides alot. Yet once "awake" he swims around, eats and patrols his place for a bit, before swimming back into his hiding place or resting on the heater (idk why but he loves this so who am I to make him leave). I also doubt he sees much btw, since I also didn't know about the dragonscale colour pigmenting his eyes... yet they do and they're pretty cloudy. But he recognizes me, so he can not be blind.
I don't want to leave him suffering, yet I of course don't unnecessarily want to euthanize him too early if he could live more happy life time. I'm kinda stuck 😅

Do you do anything to make Death Saves more interesting?
Recently, I started asking my players to give a happy or wholesome memory every time they get a successful death save, and a scary or depressing memory if they get a failed save. It can be something the characters experienced in game or something from their backstory. I don't really mind.

I recently learned that you can use få + infinitive/participle and it basically replaces ha/kunne/måtte osv. Do you know more about the history of få? I know it's from fá, but when did it get the additional use of an auxiliary? Or was it just normal to use it in it's get/receive meaning in the + infinitive/participle context as well, and it's only today this looks like a grammaticalization (which I think happened here). Basically, I want to know more about the process of its grammaticalization, and would be very happy about literature, papers, etc. or direct answers.
