I just need to get this off my chest. I had a horrible experience with an endometriosis specialist. For one she did not respect that I didn’t want hormones again after my teen years being messed up by however many different BC pills. She may of gotten me an internal ultrasound but the problem came with my results…the technician told me she basically believes I have endo based on what she saw so I was expecting this GYN to say the same. I had multiple lesions cysts and endometriomas showing on my scan however this doctor told me to my face “you don’t have endometriosis” and offered a biopsy of the inside of my uterus to investigate why I have such long and heavy bleeding. She ended up leaving for a few months to see family so I was waiting to have my appointment for a copper IUD and the biopsy (awake) turns out they stopped shipping copper IUDs to Australia…but she didn’t even do the biopsy that appointment either so a total waste of $500 AUS (out of pocket because she’s private I waited 2 years with for an appointment with the gyn in my rural town which never happened). I refused to go back to her, she also said stuff to me like “you’re too pretty to cry” (I was 18 at the time and regardless of age I think this is inappropriate it also felt condescending because I’m young.).
It took me from this appointment in march 2024 till December 2024 to convince my mother I NEEDED to see a new doctor. It had gotten so much worse to where I could barely function for 3 of the 4 weeks each month. This Dr was much better however and scheduled me for his next surgery availability which is in 4 days now. He also actually educated me on the hormone options so I’ve convinced myself to try the Mirena, give it three months and if I hate it I’ll get it out. He is doing a laparoscopy for excision of all abnormalities, IUD insertion, and hysteroscopy to see if I have adenomyosis or anything else internally. He was kind and immediately clocked that I had been dismissed my whole life (since I was 12).
I’m still so angry about this other gyn dismissing literal photos that show I have endo. I suppose it lead me to my now gyn but not without thousands out the window. I’m hoping posting this will help me let go of the anger I feel toward her.

When I was 10/11 years old, I was learning how to become a nail tech with my aunt. She would take me to the classes with her. I was getting good. Because of family drama with the adults in my family she moved out and took ALL the supplies including the stuff I personally paid for from my babysitting money. I wish I had kept up with it now as Id probably be a master now and seeing how many people are now nail techs.
Anyways Im in my late twenties and I dont have alot of money. I make about 25K a year and am working on becoming a phlebotomist and MRI tech. I, like many girls like to have my eyebrows done and nails. Im pretty low maintance, I dont wear any makeup at all besides chapstick/lipgloss and my personal upkeep is waxing and getting pedicures.
This is mostly personal preference but also its the cost of getting nails done as well. Alot of nail salons or individual nail techs charge an insane amount. I know times have changed since I was 11 but charging $5 per nail charm is a serious overcharge. Im a simple girl, I get medium cogfin shape nails and 1 color no charms no nail arr nothing and it costs $75 plus the tip, which for me as a simple low maintence girl is an insane amount. This was my last nail set 3 years ago as I got an infection.
I have tried personal nail techs but my experience hasnt been well there either. One girl forgot I booked with her I guess and she lied saying a medical emergency came up (I had her on snapchat, she was at the mall) and she was gonna charge me $125 for a 1 color medium length set. Another girl, she answered a facetime from her baby daddy and talked for 20 minutes, which was awkward. The entitlement I see with personal nail techs with their ridiculous prices and late policies (will charge the whole service for example) and the expectation of tipping (I dont believe in tipping but thats a whole other topic. Before you come for me, ive worked in a restuarant and doordash before so Ive had to work for tips. And yes I tip waiters, my tattoo artists, wax lady and nail techs) it just has caused me to just stick with my pedicures and i’ll occassionally do my fungernails but just the shellac as its more natural for me and less exoensive. More than half the time, these girls are barely starting out yet charging expertise prices and some arent even licensed.
I understand nail techs need to make their money and the ones that are actually licensed and experienced should know their worth and charge accordingly. I also know the high maintence girlys come regularly and get amazing beautiful nails. I miss the times when I could just go every now and then and get my nails done. I dont do anything crazy, just medium length one color nails which I dont even do that anymore, just stick with doing shellac. Its a simple nail set and i dint want to go to the nail salons because I caught in infection last time and the independent girlies dont want to do it because they have bare minimum $60 sets or their attitude (not towards me but I can see their statuses and policies on their profile and how they talk to and about their clients) gives me the ick or because I wont be a regular customer they wont take me on.
I rather just do them myself. I have to save for my medical aspirations but I do want to get my cosmotologist/barber license so I can do everything on my own. I want to do my own hair and nails and if I have a son do his hair. I will be able to do my boyfriend and nephews hair at a reasonable price. I also want to do my own wax services on myself besides my brazilian and bave that be my only outsourced mantaince. I love my wax lady and she is the only one I personally believe deserves a should tip. I know it may seem expensive and ridiculous to get licensed for this but I want to be able to do it at a professional level on myself as well as close family members that dont make alot of money or arent able to spend the crazy prices of today. The videos I see online of “if youre a broke girl just say that” and negative attitude is disheartening. Even those who arent able to spend alot deserve to feel pampered and pretty too.
It might be a year or two before I can go to cosmetology school so in the mean time I want to learn and be self taught (Im only going to do them on myself anyways) I get that people learn online and some are self taught but I want to do this on a expertise level.
Any reccomendations on beginner channels on youtube or tiktok I should watch? I have some exoerience when I was a kid but I think its best to start from tge beginning. I know I can also get supplies from walmart or amazon but any other advise on where to get supplies that real licensed nail techs get theirs would be nice as well.

I have an 8bitdo micro controller that I am trying to bind krita shortcuts to. I am using a samsung tablet tab s8+.
The 8bitdo micro is already configured such that each button corresponds to a specific keyboard combination (e.g., ctrl+z is bound to the up arrow on the d-pad). This was done by setting up the micro-controller in "keyboard" mode.
When I navigate to the krita keyboard shortcut sub-menu via Settings > Configure Krita... > Keyboard Shortcuts I attempted to set the "Mirror Image Horizontally" action (under the Image drop-down menu) to the left d-pad arrow (bound to the H key). To do this, I selected "Mirror Image Horizontally" then next to "Custom:" I selected the toggle button, which prompted me via the "Input ..." prompt.
I then clicked the left d-pad arrow on the micro-controller. However the input wasn't registered. Do I need to bind the shortcuts using an *actual* keyboard first? I bought the micro-controller to avoid having to use a keyboard in the first place...
