Obviously it's just lazy and bad style to write, for example, "a no. of people attended", but in set expressions like telephone no., VAT no., serial no., etc. it is indeed used as an abbreviation in some styles (e.g. some legal docs and technical docs). Do you mean when is the first recorded usage of this expression? Otherwise, it seems a strange question to me because there is nothing cryptic or obscure about the expression for it to have some kind of unknown "origin", it's just a slightly humorous turn of phrase. we were in mixed religion relationship (hes christian and im muslim) I always had a feeling his mom did not like me because of it. the thing is, I never actually had any solid reason for this feeling, until one day I find out she sent him a video of some preacher guy saying basically "think twice about not marrying a non chrstian, its not a good idea, leave before its too late"
I got really upset, and his whole family gaslit me saying "this is none of your business and it shouldn't even upset you, dont you dare even get in his moms business like that" and his mom point blank said to me"dont interfere with what I send my son"

Budget: Preferably 200, up to 400 is fine (400 is pushing it, please don't send me 500 dollar headphones unless they are absolutely amazing!)
Im in the US, willing to buy off other websites but would prefer Drop or Amazon.
These are for home use with a SMSL M100 DAC and Schiit Magni.
A few years ago I had DT880s and really really enjoyed the vocals but the highs were too shouty/tinny for me, I need a more mild headphone that also has more present mid's and low's. My music habits go between rap (bigx, Kanye, etc) and music that is more reliant on instruments and vocals (Beatles, beabadobee, etc).
I also currently have the Crinkle Moondrop IEMs and the highs on those are borderline shouty to me (with the 3.5 cable, the USB C cable fixes it for the most part).
What are some good recommendations, I am currently eyeing the HD6XX and think they will work well for most of my music except for rap. Are there any other better options that will work better for rap?
