(1) I wish there was an app that can focus on generating problems similar to the following.
Identifying Melodic Intervals When There Are Two Voices.
The bass melody of C ➚ G\Db is a P5 but I wrongly guessed tritone because I heard the harmonic tritone of G\Db continuing to sound. My memory of the C shifted up to Db an octave below the actual Db.
Similarly, in the treble melody of C ➘ F/Db, the C ➘ F is a P5, but it sounded like a m6 because my memory of C shifted up an m2 to resonate with the Db.
The bass melody of F ➚ Db\A is an m6 but because I want to resolve the Db down a M3 to A, I mistook it for a M6. My mistake was thinking that that resolution of this interval is a mark of the M6 of the NBC jingle (the mi ➘ do in “sol ➚ mi ➘ do”). It is, sort of, but F Db A make an augmented chord. (si mi do would be spelled, E# C# A).
(2) I wish there was an app that automatically generates what I’m typing into Musescore, below.
When listening to successive harmonic intervals, I find myself focusing on one melodic interval to identify the second note, and then deriving the harmonic interval above or below that note by listening to the harmonic quality. That’s a two-part process, although on the easier ones the two parts happen at the same time. What I’d like to also be able to do is to hear both melodic intervals at the same time. For example, on hearing C\E → A\F#, I focus on the bass melody C ➘ A, identify it as a ➘ m3, then I hear the harmonic interval, A\F#, and identify it as a M6. However, I’d like to be able to hear the melodic ➘m3 and the ➚M2 at the same time.
My app for hearing harmonic intervals, Ear Guru, allows for the melodic intervals to be limited to 2nds, but that was still a bit difficult for me, so in Musescore I wrote out a long passage of harmonic intervals whose melodic motion was limited to m2. That proved to be at a better level of difficulty for me. Next I plan on rewriting the treble melody so it has both m2 and M2, while keeping the melodic bass restricted to m2. Then I’ll invert that so the bass can move by any 2nd and the treble is restricted to m2. From there, I’ll be able to go back to the 2nds in Ear Guru.
(Ear Guru is by far my favorite app, btw. It does a few other important things too, all very elegantly.)

So all over the internet, you'll find various models of centers: From the Polk Audio Monitor Series CS1 II priced at $129 to KEF's R6 Meta priced at $2k USD. (Of course you can go higher.)
-Both speakers cover a similar Frequency Response, with the KEF up to 28kHz versus the Polk's 24Khz.
-They have practically the same sensitivity.
-They both differ a little in recommended wattage (Do people really turn their receivers up to max volume?)
And of course, there are the main differences: Driver count, build quality, material used in the drivers, etc.
What's even more mind blowing is some people will recommend a bookshelf speakers as a center channel! And guess what? The results are great?
So what truly makes a great center channel? We know it's the "most important" part of your set up, but what if I enjoy a Q150 in the center? Will it be outdone by a Q250c?
Why would you recommend an actual center over a high quality bookshelf? What makes a great center?
