I first read the novel after the movie came out, and when reading the novel again this month, I realized one of the things I hated about the RPT novel was done way better in the movie.
In the movie, they seemed to be trying to make it so Wade wasn't perfect, doing everything himself. Infiltrating IOI was replaced with Sam being captured and Wade helping her escape, so it wasn't fully taken from him and moved to her, but she took the inititive to deactivate the Orb. The other big switch I noticed, though getting less focus, is instead of Wade stealing and spreading the evidence of Sorrento & IOI's murders, Helen recorded it and sent it to the media. I thought these were well done because it moved some of the important stuff off of Wade's shoulders, but didn't deminish his direct work in winning the Egg.
Meanwhile, in Ready Player Two, Wade was the only one capable of even participating in the contest, but everyone else did a lot of the work, but the way the game was structured, their work amounted to basically just telling Wade what to do. Rather than having them do stuff on their own in addition to Wade's stuff, they basically turn Wade into, well, a video game character being controlled by his friends.

Host to numerous lesser hives which act as the lifeblood of the planet, it is headed in all matters political, spiritual, and economic by the influence of its domineering capital city, Thade Primary. For millennia the world has served as an important hub of commerce and industry, sending resources and manpower both to Terra and the wider systems beyond it. But times will always change, and rarely for the better in this dark age. As of two years ago, it has ceased paying the Imperial Tithe. Rebellion was suspected. The idea was pressed further when all attempts to contact the planetary governor and the Planetary Defense Forces proved unsuccessful. An Inquisitorial detail was dispatched to investigate. Communication with the party was disrupted shortly after entry into Thade’s atmosphere, and all attempts to reconnect were met with failure. Before contact was lost they were able to relay one final transmission, and it confirmed the worst: The capital city had fallen to the influence of vile Xenos from the void beyond, and it was to them the world's leaders had thrown in their lot. The response to this most wretched of treacheries was swift and precise. Several regiments of the Astra Militarum were mustered at once and sent forth to reclaim Thade IX through any means necessary. But they press on, bolstered by reinforcements with every passing month, driven by the singular will to enact the Emperor’s judgement. As someone who just failed AUD at 74 and reviewed my score sheet, I can confidently say I failed this exam because of TBs.
I adopted the strategy of just hammering MCQ. I see these strategy echoed constantly in this forum. Perhaps it works for some - but it didn’t work for me. In my opinion really kind of flawed, in the sense that the TBs account for 50% of the exam. While in theory, they are just more in-depth MCQs, I do believe they’re unique to the point you should study them thoroughly. I’m planning on putting a way stronger emphasis on TBs going forward.

I realized that I am looking for people who are psychologically frustrated, with myself being somewhat like that and would like to be heard. I suppose it has to do with the dynamics of my relationship with my mother (it was negative and quite cold) and with the fact (perhaps this is a consequence) that I used to have few acquaintances and in this way I tried to make them (successfully, by the way). How would you characterize this situation with the help of analytical psychology and ways to correct it? It seems to me that although my pattern of behavior is wrong, am I right that deep communication is built on this kind of frustration? 2025.01.31 03:53 Barzobius ⚠️*SMITE 2 PC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPILATION* Start here⚠️
NOTE: I made this post on the Steam Discussions and brought it to Reddit too so it reaches more PC players with issues, for more potential solutions.
NOTE 2: Some of these solutions were made based on the Steam installation. I don’t have it installed from Epic Games, but the solutions should work the same as long as you translate the Smite 2 Steam folder paths for your Smite 2 Epic Games folder path.
I decided to create this standalone post of several solutions to technical issues happening to some players. Will keep updating if more solutions come to work.
Let’s start:
Is your Windows user Administrator? Make sure that your Windows user have Administrator privileges. Having a standard/non-admin user could have issues with certain authentications.
Do you use a third party antivirus software instead of the built-in Windows Security Defender? Some third-party security softwares can have issues with games and anti-cheat systems. If you are careful with clicking on links and what you install, you can perfectly manage with the build-in Windows Security Defender and avoid many issues.
Add the Program Files (x86)\Steam folder to your antivirus exception list. This will tell the anti-virus to leave Steam alone and avoid potential issues. Some games will even load faster.
Rght-click on both the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe and the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\Windows\Hemingway.exe executable > Properties > Compatibility > and check the “Run this program as Administrator” box. This has been proven to fix many player’s issues. Although sometimes it can be the opposite specifically for the Hemingway.exe since the solution for some was to actually uncheck the “Run this program as Administrator“ so, do your testing.
Go to Windows Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Graphics > Add an app (Browse) > C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\Windows\Hemingway.exe > Once added to the list, click on it and selected for High Performance.
Run cmd or windows powershell as administrator
Type the following commands, one by one. Wait for each command to finish its task then continue with the next:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
This will do a health check for Windows file system and integrity. Just to cover all bases.
Make sure that your Windows Update is all up to date and your videocard drivers too. Having your drivers fully updated, delete all shader cache (both integrated like Intel and dedicated like Nvidia/AMD videocard) so the games rebuild them all with these latest drivers and there’s no mixup. You can google how to properly delete all shader cache.
If you have an Nvidia card, try disabling Gsync for Smite 2 specifically and limit the framerate to something a bit lower than your monitor refresh rate via driver. If at the end of all these troubleshooting the game runs fine, you can test re-enabling Gsync and see if it works.
I know there are some programs that heavily interfere with some games and anti-cheat systems. Some i know:
Asus Armory Crate, AVG, Avast, Norton Antivirus, Corsair ICue RGB Software, Reshade, Wireshark, JoyToKey, Keys2Xinput, sometimes DS4Windows, and there might be more.
(Note: There’s a chance that EAC has or will update somehow to fix these incompatibilities).
Via your videocard drivers, limit the max FPS on Smite 2 to something less than your monitor max Hz.
Right-click on your installed game drive > Properties > Tools > and do both Error Checking and Optimize and Defragment Drive to make sure everything is in order.
As a testing step, on Steam right-click on Smite 2 > Properties > and disable Steam Overlay. This will boost performance but you won’t see the Achievements or Steam friends messages popping or buy Diamonds while the overlay is disabled. Just for testing.
Check all these, reboot and try again. Hope these helps. Let us know.
